The 4 personality types
Different personalities there are basically 4 personality types as far as we are concerned in Network Marketing.
So for Network Marketing purposes the population can be effectively divided into four 25 percent sections.
As a Network Marketing and in the real world our lives and the economy are in a state of constant change this is natural,
Human beings by there very nature are resistant to change, sometimes even for their own good. Understand also every generation produces these 4 personality types so it is not an age thing.

IT is important to understand that we have all of these 4 personality types in some way on some level, but you will find that one will be the dominant personality type. I discussed these personalities’ types in the context of Network Marketing. I have seen all of these personalities excel in the industry that is Network Marketing. In all cases it has been a matter of the Right Time meeting the Right Opportunity.

To label people is disingenuous and disrespectful these are personality types for your understanding.

1 Fixed personality types; these have fixed in their minds their perception of how every thing in the world is according to them. They will have a strong opinion on any and all subjects and tend to lean to the negative about anything new. Generally speaking you can recognise a fixed mindset personality by the “always right attitude”. Fixed personality types generally lost to new ideas and in the scheme of change in the world the will change very slowly or not at all. Please recognise that you may be in a relationship with a fixed personality. The advice is to love and respect them and their perception of the world as they see it and want to live in it. In Network Marketing they are nonstarters.

2 Comfortable personality types; are not fixed but are comfortable about their lot in life, they realise that all is not right with their world but they lack the motivation and desire to change. They can be recognised in general by their behaviour. They are likely to be the personality type that would rather lie on the couch and watch TV, even if the house was burning down around them so to speak. They may even have achieved success in some field and are perceive that they are financially comfortable they tend too have checked out emotionally from life and its constant change. Again love them with all your hart but to Network Marketing they are tend to be lost to us, unless massive change moves them into some sort of action. In Network Marketing they are also nonstarters.

3 The Joiner personality type; the lets have fun types, for these personality types tend to not want to miss out on anything. They join almost anything, just to say that they are part of it. They are normally enthusiastic and may be recognised as habitual event attendees, they always show great promises, but in the Network Marketing business I find they tend to require you’re most important and precious commodity “Your time” and this can be frustrating. There enthusiasm is short lived maybe until the next shiny opportunity comes along a kind of wondering generality. Dedication, commitment and focus on the end goal tend to be low. Because of the time you may invest in the joiner type they can be a huge drain on your emotional reserves and can greatly influence your Dedication, commitment and focus on the end goal you “Why”. In Network Marketing these personality types are starters but generally are non finishers and are likely too quit along the way they may try to get you to quit in support of them. It is important to recognise this type of personality quickly, be supportive of them but remain steadfast in your goals don’t become one of them a wondering generality.

4 This personality I call winners so how do we recognise them. They tend to be the personality type that excels in most things they take an interest in. They may be high level retired from sports or successful in business or that someone you know that is always on the go doing something. Winners come from all walks of life! What winners understand is the need to be coach able and to be coached or mentored. They are heavily into personal development and read or listen to personal development materials. Winners set goals and have a game plan for their life. They understand desire and commitment and have the ability and skill to focus their mind like a laser on their goals. They attract winner type personalities to them, more than likely other winners. They are contributing to society on many levels, they are givers not takers. These are the personality type you want in your Network Marketing business at any level.

Positive or Negative Mind Set
Positive thinking people tend to look at the glass as half full while negative thinking people see it half empty it is a simple test. You will notice I used Positive Thinking and Negative Thinking. Not positive people and negative people these are labels and all labels are disingenuous and disrespectful.

The amazing thing is that positive and negative thoughts are just a flash of electrons in your brain that perceive either a positive or negative situation that seems very real at the time. A thought a perception.
The other amazing fact of the human brain supported by science is that positive and negative thoughts cannot occupy the same space.
This implies that we have a choice in the matter we get an opportunity to make a decision do I choose to look at life in a positive manner or do I choose to look at life in a negative manner.
It is your choice!
The other amazing thing is what we choose is what we get more of. I do not know why this is so but it is. No doubt there will be a professor that can explain this much better than I can.

In this case the reason why dose not matter. It is the result that matters.
But the fact is they are thoughts that we perceive and we have a choice in the matter.
These thoughts are the basis of our Emotions.

 In Network Marketing these positive and negative emotions (thoughts) are often associated with a roller coaster ride. The emotional roller coaster.
So much time and energy is given to helping people understand and cope with the emotional roller coaster of Network Marketing. So what causes these ups and downs? EXPECTATIONS or more importantly expectations that we set and are not met. Expectations come from our thoughts so we have choice here as well!

Now some of you will be saying well if I don’t have and set expectations I won’t achieve my goals and that is a valid point.
The emotional roller coaster is happening to you because your goals are short term goals from short term thinking, it is this short term thinking that makes the ride wild and you feel (thought) that you have no control over it.
So what is the first thing you must do to be a participant on the emotional roller coaster ride?

Answer you must get in it or on it. WHY?
It is your choice!

What I have found is that by having long term Goals and long them thinking you also have long term expectations and you will get their faster, because you are not wasting energy and time on coping with the effects of the emotional roller coaster. Yes there will be disappointments and yes there will be successes it is a journey, it is the long term thinking that will get your goals.

Having this mind set also has a greater attraction. You appear to have less desperation and a sense of calmness. People are attracted to this. It makes them curious of what you are doing!

Think of it this way. When you were dating, by giving off the air of confidence and calmness did you have better results than when you appeared desperate? People are not attracted to desperate people it is a fact in nature. Why I honestly do not know. What I do know is that if you master this strategy you will have greater success why, because it works! People like strong confident people.

Employee Vs Business mindset
I am surprised how many people come to Network marketing as Independent Business Owners (they have purchased a business) and then maintain the representative mentality, the employee mind set.

It is understandable the fact is we are all trained like Pavloff’s Dogs from a very young age to become employees think like employees and act like employees. That is sad about this is that for many the training is so complete they cannot see it?
How did this happen? Simply an outdated belief from a time long gone “the industrial revolution”! Don’t believe me? Short History lesson, prior to the industrial revolution children if their parents could afford it were educated at home by a tutor home Schooling. Those parents unable to afford home tutoring or were uneducated, well basically their children were left uneducated to do menial work.
With the industrial revolution came expensive machinery housed in mills and the mill owners (the landed gentry) soon realised that they needed an educated work force to operate this expensive machinery. The educated landed gentry just would not do (conditions were very poor). Private Corporation schools were introduced then them mill owners (landed gentry) persuaded the governments of the day (more landed gentry) that public government schools would be a great idea.
Children would be required to be at school at a certain time. The ringing of a bell or the Corporation whistle was used. They worked for a time and a bell would be rung for lunch break and also rung at the end of the days school work. If you have children at school or if you are an employee you will know that not much has changed in a hundred or so years has it? Well we commute our children to school like we commute to work.
Fortunately for us all the world has changed. Today we now have Telecommunications, Computers, the World Wide Web (Internet), Video telecommunications, mobile telecommunications, Television, Social Networks. Network Marketing and we even have “Home Schooling”
We have the tools that allow us to have home based businesses.

We all need it is absolutely true; if you are not growing then you’re dying!

Generally I have found new network marketers come with a belief that they need to have a complete knowledge of the Products and services and the systems and their workings that they are prompting. This is simply not true. And is very much an impediment to momentum and in some cases the failure to gain very lucrative Quick Start Bonuses.

Network marketers must acquire information it is not the information itself that is important, too much information this leads to overload and information is fluid and changing anyway.

What is more important is that they must have is the knowledge of where information can be found quickly. Mastering this where to find Knowledge is what will allow you to stand out in the crowd and be a leader of others. In most cases in your umbrella company’s IBO web sites or back office sites. Should have all the information you need about their products and services.

Personal development is personal growth eventually you will be a leader in this industry and you can only lead through personal growth.

The best Networking companies produce the finest personal development tools you can possibly want and you normally get these as part of your business registration fee. They spend hundreds of thousand of dollar on these so Use them why because they work!
The best Networking Company’s hold Events, International, Regional and local training where information is disseminated.
Our IBO’s are Encouraged to attend these they are informative and fun.
Your Company may hold Webinars, Training Conference Calls and Weekly training events in your area.
Take from these what you need, hype is not helpful, Information is. Recognise the difference and remember it is YOUR BUSINESS stay focused on Customer Growth and Business Building and Success will come.
  • Keep it simple
  • Show your clients how it works
  • Show them how they can do it.
  • Leave the decision to be part of your organisation up to them!
  • LEAD BY EXAMPLE! “Others are watching you”
  • Never stop learning
  • Never stop reading personnel development books

Always strive to reducing these 6 steps to the basic values doing this will create better results than information overload.

Step 5 Master the effective follow up or follow through

Like in golf swing the follow through is extremely important it is where most Network Marketing lose the plot.They continue to sell their Business Opportunity or their product they become hard sell sales people in Network Marketing I have heard this described as being persistence. For me this is harassment!
The problem with this approach is that your future business partner may go into witness protection and refuse to take your calls. How bad is that especially if they are your friends and family they stop rejecting your offer and start rejecting you! Not just now but it could be forever.
A no now is not a no forever it is more than likely a matter of timing.
The effective strategy is to answer questions and educate your client, NOT to sell. The time for selling was at your presentation and the company DVD should have done that. The follow up is the time to help your client to decide on either becoming a business partner or customer or both.


They are looking for answers to their questions! Not a hard sell!

New IBO’s dislike this step because the answer the get may not be what they are expecting and they are trying to close the deal.
They fail to follow through simply because of lack of knowledge. If you can’t follow through then get your Up line involved they will help you to do it simply introduce them to your Buyer and let them answer their questions.
Not following up or following through by answering your potential clients questions is Failure Point 5 (the follow through is up to you)
Another strategy is to get them to come to the next event training, a business meeting, a webinar the more exposures you can get your client in front of the better. It is a process of social closure let them close the deal. It works.

You must remember the word “CHOICE” they always have the right to not do what you do or buy what you sell. The CHOICE is theirs and ownership of the decision must remain with your client their desire not what you desire.

Look the main reasons people do not take up your offer are perceived Timing and skill set. Timing may not be right for them now and a “No” now is not a “No” in the future. Timing will always come right and skill set can be learned. Go back to them and educate them.

Step 4 Master the Effective Presentation Method

Your presentation is the store window. From here on this is the time to impress people with your Products and Services. This is your big break!
You have only a small window of opportunity to get the message across. So get it right, Master this step and master your future. 


The presentation is also a process

The right environment is very important
Remember if yours is a home based business then THEIR HOME is the best location. If yours is not the find a quiet place like a hotel lobby, I dislike cafes and restaurants as there are always too many distractions ant their work place is absolutely off limits because of distractions. If they are people that you know and they are regular visitors to your home then this is an option but their home is the best option. I also always ask if they have a working DVD player.

Your Dress Code
Will depend on then person you are presenting to remember you know them in most cases. Dress sharp and blunt it down as required. Have a clean and hygienic look about you.

Be On Time
Be there before time they may have friend coming the first impression perception is extremely important so BE ON TIME. It can be very important with family and friends as it shows that you are serious about your business. They may know you as a person that is always late BE ON TIME they will notice the change and become more curious about what you are doing.

Establish A Rapport
Re establish a rapport with the Clients establish their situation the why they want to know what you are doing. Make good comments on their house or an item in their house a family photo. Over time you will be able to read from a person’s house what is important to them. And take a similar position but be truthful a lie is spotted a mile away. People like to deal with people that are similar and have similar values to them. You can only master this with experience and time the more you do it the easier it will become.

Very briefly and I mean BRIEFLY let them know YOUR REASON WHY you are doing this Business let then relate to you!

Keep It Simple 
If refreshments are offered ask if the others are having something. Alcohol is a definite no go! You are there on Business it is a Business Call.

You want them sober because your Opportunity could be the once in a life time chance for them to change their lives. Respect your Business and your opportunity and others will follow your example.
Suggest if they want alcoholic refreshment the have them after your presentation. Because you may be only asking for 8 minutes of their time! Play this very carefully for some people it may be another type of meeting the may need starting with A!

Almost all companies involved in selling will have a professionally prepared presentation suited to their company’s products and services. These have been tried and tested to work over time by hundreds and in some cases thousands of other successful IBO’s so use them. In my business we have an 8 minute DVD. I cannot stress enough to new IBO’s to make use of these presentation tools. 

At the Presentation I simply ask the person I am presenting too “can you please put DVD in your DVD player” and I hand the DVD to them they put it in and we watch the presentation together, this takes 8 minutes.

If I am presenting long distance, I send a link to the DVD and establish a time that they will view the DVD. I follow up with a phone call to the person.

It is after the presentation that most Network marketers experience Failure Point 4 (they keep piling on reasons why the buyer should take up their opportunity. The face full of pizza approach).The Selling part of your presentation Finishes at the end of the DVD in my case. Now is the time for moving on Questions fro you Questions like.

Question 1: What did you like best about what you saw in the Opportunity?

Question 2: Do you see any reason Name that this opportunity couldn’t work for you and your family at some level?

Question 3: What would you say is your biggest motivating reason for stating your new business?

Question 4: Wouldn’t it be great you and I working together as a team and we accomplish your goal?

Question 5: And how do you think your Partner would feel about that?

Question 6: What we need to do next is get you REGISTERED with the company. Name so that we can launch your own Business?

Question 7: I need to ask you an important question? (pause for answer) For only 90 days that you don’t work for me I am not your boss I need your permission to be your personal Coach, DO I HAVE IT?

Question 8: In this is for 90 days. The very next thing we do is the most important thing we need to do right now name is get you personally qualified, you got have a story for all the people we bring into your group that you got qualified .This is what they will do. so this is the perfect opportunity for you to get some product training and qualify right out of the Gate.

Question 9: So here is the plan for the next 90 days. I will Explain the Value to you and why the importance of EVENTS, The TRAINING and the home meetings.

Question 10: When an we get together so I can Coach you on the nuts and bolts of the Compensation Plan. And the correct way of inviting people to see this Opportunity?

I believe at this stage in their presentation Failure Point 4 arrives. This is the number one reason why people do not get people to join or purchase their products and services in Network Marketing they do not have the right questions and therefore they get asked questions that they cannot possibly answer because they are “NEW”.
Because people do not want to look foolish in front of their friends and family. Because these same people know them for what they do or they know them as who they are and they know that you are not an expert in network marketing. And as a result a potential business partner may not join your business or even become your customer. This is called resistance to purchase.

We have found a way to overcome this resistance, it is simple and I teach it to the business partners I work with. The mastery of this in of your presentation is critical to your success.
Knowing WHY this approach works is the key to success in your business.
Why do we do the presentation this way? Simple because it works not every time and the timing may not be right for some people but it works a great percentage of the time!
This One of our competitive advantages!

But hey the knowing the why this approach works and the ability to overcome resistance to purchase and getting people to move on are part of the strategies of our great team. Step 3: Master the way to raising interest and curiosity

Remember network marketing is Relationship type Word of mouth referral based marketing.


This is where the rubber meets the road so to speak you now need to start developing and building relationships people not just prequalifies people the stronger the relationship the greater the trust factor. Just communicate with them!

An inability of IBO’s to master Curiosity and temper excitement leads to Failure Point 3 (Raising curiosity in what you do and not what you sell)A new network marketer needs to develop, learn and Master the power of CURIOSITY Simply Curiosity is King and excitement is Queen.

People by nature can easily become curious about anything. Try this go to any busy people place and simply look up and continue to look up and stay quiet you will be amazed at how many people will follow your lead and look up with you, why CURIOSITY.
Questions and answers but more specific the right questions and the right curiosity generating answers are the only way to create overwhelming curiosity in a person.

You are looking for a Switch!
Raising interest is just that, IT IS NOT A PRESENTATION do not put them to together.
You can make an appointment or arrange a time to catch up later but not now.
Why do I recommend this?
Because it works!
Time is required for people to be curious, it is like boiling a jug of water you need a small action switch it on and time to elevate curiosity to boiling point. Find the value to them as to being in the business  and when you do and you have your Switch!

Why not tell them everything up front.
Because In my Business the Business Opportunity is a life changing opportunity for people. I would be doing them a great disservice if I blurted out what I have then I would be selling them on my perceived thoughts and desires and preconceptions and all of these are mine not theirs.

It is extremely important to them that the people I meet get the opportunity to SEE what I Know with an open mind and no preconceptions they must own it and make their own INFORMED decisions. I want to help my friends and family and people not be of disservice.

What they do after a Presentation is up to them it is their choice!

For example I get asked “Brian what do you do for a living” by people every day .people I meet often for the first time (natural curiosity). Most people would answer with I AM a (what ever their profession is) example” I am an accountant”. Would that answer make you curious and ask more question, likely not. Inquiry question will not come from people that have preconceived ideas of an accountant (I am not having a go at accountants I am just using this as an example). I answer “I help people Get Paid on Bills” and in my case I have a business that indeed will do just that.

I have found over time this approach works very well simply to create curiosity because it creates a follow up inquiry question from them for more information. They might ask how do you do that I say “it is very easy to get paid on Bills, but here is not the place to explain it, you are both busy now but perhaps we could get together in the next few days, would you like that?” If they want more info and they normally do, I suggest a get together in their HOME always in their home if I can and we make an appointment. The end!

It is not an exact science you need to be natural honest and sound unscripted people can tell a scripted response a mile away.

 This very important stage should bee kept brief. Your goal if you like is an appointment for a presentation not a sale.

Step 2: Master the way to prequalifying your clients

This step is extremely important as it involves two processes one physical and the other Psychological.


You start looking for Clients but not approaching them. Your clients need to be prequalifying and is this process that works for everyone.

Not prequalifying your clients is Failure Point 2 (because approaching people that are not prequalified can be sole destroying for you a waste of precious time and will remove excellent people from your list prematurely)

It starts with physically writing down a list of every person you know (your potential clients) and placing their names onto 2 categories on your list.


Psychologically the more names you have on the lists the more solidly you will create your business.
You will have a feeling of abundance and not spiral down the path fear of loss. In our lives it is said that we come in contact with around 2000 people. Why not start making a list of that size if you have difficulty use memory joggers like.
  • Who do you know?
  • Who are our relatives?
  • Who is our…….
  • Who sold us our…….
  • Do you know someone who……
Please Do Not approach anybody until you have these lists started!

One category is a list of people that you know to have the skills required and call that list skilled and the other category is unskilled.
Very important because: the list heading names are Skilled and unskilled not will and wont!
Under no circumstances pre judged anybody these lists are about Ability and skill set.
People that you know and that have a skill set required in doing your business right now. And the people that don’t have the skill set.

You may have been told that anybody can do this Network marketing “Thing” by sponsors and even the Network Marketing Companies themselves may promote this message. The simple fact is that this is both correct and incorrect. Because of current skill set levels.
  • Remember you are a Business owner there is a skill set required.
  • You are promoting, advising, Selling Products and Services, there is a skills set required.
  • You are social networking there is a skill set required.
  • You are communicating in writhing and verbal there is a skill set required.
The Fact is some people that you know now may have these skill sets that are required and others will not.

You are sorting people into Skilled and Unskilled.

Skilled ListIn your skilled List there will be people with skill sets ranging from higher to lower. You are looking to give all the people a score from 10 down to 1, the 10’s being the people with the higher skills maybe they are in a networking environment already and are successful at it or they have most of the skill sets above. To those that have some of them range them to 1.
Out of the 8,9, and 10’s there should be people you want as your front line business partners and can work with them .These will be the most important people that you will approach to come on with you in your business these people have the skills to hit the deck running and you get on with them.
All will need coaching and training but some more than others.
Unskilled List
These are people you know that do not have the skills at present but in the future may decide to get them and people that just may not have any desire to do so.
Important fact: Everyone you meet has the opportunity to learn the skills required doing and working at a Network Marketing Business, the simple fact is they may not have the desire. You can teach skills but I am afraid you cannot teach desire.
What you have just done is pre qualified your warm market lists!

Finding the right prequalified buyer of your products and services is the most important skill you can master and I mean MASTER. With out the mastery of this skill you may be doomed to failure or at least mediocre success. There are many ways to prequalify a client. Please take note I refer to people as a “buyer” not a prospect. I dislike the word “prospect” as it removes the human aspect from the equation and denote a future expectation.

The prequalifying process in network marketing starts and ends with lead generation and list building. Create categories of skill and ability not they will or they won’t. As mentioned earlier these can be your list of people that you know your warm list or you can create a warm list
.
Who do you approach?You need to approach both lists and offer your business opportunity first and then as a customer opportunity “Big target picture - Little target picture”
But you need to approach your skilled list first. You may be at first afraid to approach the 8’s,9’s,and 10’s on your list and we call it the “Chicken List Syndrome”, but the fact is this is where your golden eggs will come from at the start of your business. And this will create momentum in your business.
Here it is extremely important to make Use of the most skilled and admired person in your Up line to and enlist their help to help you with these people, it is also in their interest to help you so never ever be afraid to approach you senior Up line directly. They will appreciate that you have contacted them and will help you round up the “Chickens”.

The most successful prequalified people on your lists will be those that have the one attribute necessary for them to be successful in your business as either a contented customer, telling others positive things about you or as a positive motivated like minded business partner in the business along side you.
They must have a need for your product your service or your business opportunity (a product) otherwise you are trying to hard sell them something they do not want or need.

 Lead generation is what will make you business expand to unimagined size. Lead generation is a large subject and I will cover it in a separate blog.

Step 1 Getting Registered for Success

Once you have decided on the Network Marketing Corporation a business in Relationship type Word of mouth referral based marketing. It is very important to get registered and qualified as fast as you can if there are qualification requirements, Make certain that you can meet these at your registration be prepared.
WHY? Because you want to get Paid don’t you? Do this at registration or with in 24 hours!

Not getting qualified is Failure Point 1 (Fact: if do not get qualified you have just donated you registration fee to the Corporation!)


If your sponsor is on the ball they should provide you with a check list of the information you need to have with you and the Qualifying requirements for a successful registration.


Caution: If your sponsor cannot or will not provide this information either you have not done your due diligence fully or your sponsor may not have your best interests at hart.
  • Read the terms and conditions of your selected Corporation.
  • Make certain they have a full 10 working days cooling of period
  • Read the policies and procedures.
  • Fill in all the information in your registration form honestly and correctly
  • Do what is required to meet the qualification requirements.
  • Remember you are purchasing a Business 
  • Have an accounting system in place to record income and expenses.
At this point welcome aboard you are now in the “Network Marketing Industry” a 21st century industry and be proud of that fact. It is a great industry and has changes millions of people’s lives. 
You have now opened the door to possibilities of immeasurable value to you financial, spiritual and developmental. What you do with your life is now up to you! 
In most cases your business will be PART TIME when you start. I have used the word Part time and Not SPARE TIME because most people are very busy these days and if you hold to the spare time belief then you may never have time to devote to the success of YOUR Business. This leads to Failure Point 2 in getting started.
Your Network Marketing Corporation may offer what are called Quick Start Bonuses. They are just that, bonuses to get you off to a quick start and get a return on your business investment. Go for them! There can be a lot of money on the table.
Be Coach able and take the advice from your sponsor, a great sponsor will be with you as a coach in these early days to get you started on the road to your success and to help you get these bonuses. A great sponsor will help you through the ups and downs of starting YOUR OWN Business.  
Friendly advice: Unforeseen events can and do happen in peoples lives. If something should have happened to your immediate sponsor and they are no longer able to help you, just get immediately in contact with others that you have met when you did your due diligence and arrange to work with them. Do not delay. There will always be someone senior to your sponsor that you can work with and be advised by. Do It! 
I cannot tell you how many times and sadly all too often it is at this point so many new IBO’s in Network Marketing actually master Failure point 3 with the statement “I will wait until I have tried the products and services or received my first bill before I recommend them to my friends”. This is a killer for a new business you lose the excitement, the momentum, and give yourself absolutely no opportunity to create belief in yourself and YOUR OWN Business. The problem with this belief is your bill may come in 40 days and the bonuses may only be available for 30 days! You could be sacrificing thousands of dollars with this belief statement and self sabotaging YOUR OWN Business! Hey but the choice is yours.
At this point it would be wise to ask yourself some questions and be honest with yourself! 
Did I not do my due diligence on the Corporation?  
Has the important reason WHY I purchased a Business changed so soon or not important to me now?
 You may just have what is called in the real-estate business buyer’s remorse, simply a perceived FEAR (False Expectations that Appear Real) of the unknown. 
We have all been there, BE COACH ABLE  
The best way to combat your fear is to “Go for it” the bonuses are real the fear is not! 
Remember you are no longer an “Employee” you are in a brand new bright positive world of owning your own Business in a 21st century industry. 
Most people need to realise what they have an opportunity to change there lives, have fun enjoy and Get on with Step 2 Prequalifying your clients!

DSA Code of Ethics

As a consumer you should expect salespeople to:
  • Tell you who they are, why they’re approaching you and what products they are selling.
  • Promptly end a demonstration or presentation at your request.
  • Provide a receipt with a clearly stated cooling off period permitting the consumer to withdraw from a purchase order within a minimum of three days from the date of the purchase transaction and receive a full refund of the purchase price.
  • Explain how to return a product or cancel an order.
  • Provide you with promotional materials that contain the address and telephone number of the direct selling company.
  • Provide a written receipt that identifies the company and salesperson, including contact information for either.
  • Respect your privacy by calling at a time that is convenient for you.
  • Safeguard your private information.
  • Promptly end a demonstration or presentation at your request.
  • Provide accurate and truthful information regarding the price, quality, quantity, performance, and availability of their product or service.
  • Offer a written receipt in language you can understand.
  • Offer a complete description of any warranty or guarantee. 

As a salesperson, you should expect a DSA member company to:


  • Provide you with accurate information about the company’s compensation plan, products, and sales methods. 
  • Describe the relationship between you and the company in writing. 
  • Be accurate in any comparisons about products, services or opportunities 
  • Refrain from any unlawful or unethical recruiting practice and exorbitant entrance or training fees. 
  • Ensure that you are not just buying products solely to qualify for down line commissions. 
  • Ensure that any materials marketed to you by others in the sales force are consistent with the company’s policies, are reasonably priced and have the same return policy as the company’s. 
  • Require you to abide by the requirements of the Code of Ethics. 
  • Safeguard your private information. 
  • Provide adequate training to help you operate ethically. 
  • Base all actual and potential sales and earnings claims on documented facts. 
  • Encourage you to purchase only the inventory you can sell in a reasonable amount of time. 
  • Repurchase marketable inventory and sales aids you have purchased within the past 12 months at 90 percent or more of your original cost if you decide to leave the business. 
  • Explain the repurchase option in writing. 
  • Have reasonable start-up fees and costs.

Choosing the Right Networking Marketing Company for you

 I have been involved in traditional and non traditional marketing for over 35 years.Over this time I have been exposed to many opportunities. The decision to let an opportunity pass by or not is simply a DECISION a point in time.

I have found that great opportunities are simply alignment with an event that is in line with personal values and desires, TIMING and asking the right QUESTIONS and getting the correct answers.
Timing is very much subject to the events that are happening to you in the moment of the NOW in your life.
Everyone has different Personal Values and Desire these tend to motivates us to make a change. Timing, Desire and values belong completely to the personal realm of each of us.
That leaves Questions.
Asking the right questions is very important to make what we consider the correct decision for us, at the time and in line with our values and desires.
So before we passed on this Business Opportunity we decided to take a good to look at it with the same criteria we looked at ALL Business Opportunities.
  • Is the Company a Company of integrity?
  • Do the owners have a long term vision for the company?
  • Is the company a member of the direct selling association DSA in your country?
  • Are the products everybody want and needs and knows?
  • Are the products are they Products of integrity?
  • Would our and could our existing and new clients benefit?
  • Did we need to buy products to resell at start up (Carry Stock/inventory)?
  • Is there a money back Guarantee at start-up?
  • What is the compensation plan and is there residual income (work once get paid for life of customer) compensation?
  • Is there transparency and honesty in the compensation plan?
  • Could the business grow by word of mouth its self? (Has networking capabilities)
  • Is there a capability for on line presence?
  • Is there an innovative marketing strategy beneficial to clients and us?
  • Could it be full time or part time or both?
  • Could this become a plan B for our financial future?
  • Was Simple or easy to learn and do?
  • Could anybody do it?
  • Would we own the business so we could sell it in the future or were we buying a Job we could not sell? 
  • Are there Tax advantages?
  • Can we operate this business from home?
  • Will this Opportunity allowed more family time together now and in the future?
  • Are there Success stories to view or other people to talk to? And why it worked for them?
  • Are there failure stories went in and decided it was not for them and why. Or did they hide them?
  • Could we grow as people helping others? (Contribute our knowledge to help other succeed)
  • Did the company provide training and coaching?
  • Would we enjoy being in that particular business and would it suit us?
  • Would the opportunity meet our needs and could our family have fun doing it?

There are very few Business opportunities out there that stack up so look closely and do your due diligence . It is your choice!
I remind you that these are my questions and you may have different questions that you can add depending on your Desires and Values.
What we found is that the more of these questions that are answered yes the better the Business Opportunity is. Then it is just a matter of Timing. And decision one way or the other.

Customer or Client. Have you ever considered the definitions of these to words?

Customer: A person who purchases a commodity or services.
Client: A person who is under the protection of another.

The use of customer is common today if you have always used the word “customers” that OK but regard and think of them as “Clients”. Because when you start to serve and not sell clients an amazing thing happens to the way you look at them and the limits on your business growth will disappear.
What is meant by "Under your protection" it means just that you don’t sell them products and services just so you can make the largest one time profit possible. Understanding and appreciating what it is that your client is in need of, once you completely understand the final outcome they need then you lead them to the result they require the outcome to fulfil their need. You become a trusted advisor who protects them and they have reason to remain your client for a lifetime.

Building a Business within a Business Concept.

 “IT”S YOUR CHOICE”
This is some times hard for people unfamiliar with Network Marketing to understand fully. Relationship type Word of mouth referral based marketing.

I am surprised how many people come to Network Marketing as independent Business Owners (they have purchased a business) and then maintain the representative mentality, the employee mind set.

It is understandable the fact is we are all trained like Pavloff’s Dogs from a very young age to become employees think like employees and act like employees. That is sad about this is that for many the training is so complete they cannot see it?
How did this happen? Simply a outdated beliefs from a time long gone “the industrial revolution”! Don’t believe me? Short History lesson, prior to the industrial revolution children if their parents could afford it were educated at home by a tutor home Schooling. Those parents unable to afford home tutoring or were uneducated, well basically their children were left uneducated to do menial work.
With the industrial revolution came expensive machinery housed in mills and the mill owners (the landed gentry) soon realised that they needed an educated work force to operate this expensive machinery. The educated landed gentry just would not do (conditions were very poor). Private Corporation schools were introduced then them mill owners (landed gentry) persuaded the governments of the day (more landed gentry) that public government schools would be a great idea.
Children would be required to be at school at a certain time. The ringing of a bell or the Corporation whistle was used. They worked for a time and a bell would be rung for lunch break and also rung at the end of the days school work. If you have children at school or if you are an employee you will know that not much has changed in a hundred or so years has it? Well we commute our children to school like we commute to work.
Fortunately for us all the world has changed. Today we now have Telecommunications, Computers, the World Wide Web (Internet), Video telecommunications, mobile telecommunications, Television, Social Networks. Network Marketing and we even have “Home Schooling”


The tools that allow us to create and have Home Based Businesses.
If you are considering getting into the Network Marketing industry it is about now you might want to consider and take on board this paradigm shift in your thinking.
This is YOUR business you are not an employee you are the owner, the boss of a sales and marketing, the independent advertising department for your chosen umbrella corporation a business within a Business!
The Network Marketing industry is the perfect business if you embrace it 
  •  It is Home Based
  • There are no or little overheads
  • No employees
  • No inventory /stock for resale
  • No inventory/stock control
  • No inventory storage costs
  • There is no commuting
  • Start up cost is low or none
  • Return on investment is amazing
  • Compensation is base on residual income and bonuses
  • The opportunity to duplicate your business exists and you can build a very large business.
  • You have Choice and the opportunity for a limitless income over time.
  • Inventory /Stock V’s No inventory /Stock models ,It’s your choice! 
There are many different Network Marketing companies in the world. The majority fall into two categories,
Those that require the purchase of inventory stock to resell and may require the distribution and billing by the IBO. And those that have no inventory no stock and rely on the Network Marketing to ship bill and control the distribution system for the IBO’s. Both use a business within a business concept that is fundamental to Network Marketing. And both are valid and suit different personality types.
Inventory/stock model
If you have chosen a Network Marketing Corporation that requires you to purchase stock to re sell then have in place.
  • A stock control system.
  • A cost effective delivery system.
  • A storage facility.
Caution: If this is a requirement then you are a wholesale purchaser and reseller. Effectively you are being required to carry some RISK in the form of stock that may or may not sell and you may also have a distribution system that is cost effective to get these goods to your clients.
And more than likely than not you may be only able to market in a local area because of the delivery system you may have to create.
I am personally not a believer in having to purchase stock for resale in a Network Marketing Business.
Because all you are effectively doing is creating a Traditional Business under the guise of Network Marketing, a shop in your home. You may be limiting your market to the local environment, local economy and your local network, in a very short time you may have business partners competing for your market. The more successful you are the quicker this may happen. Is this not what happens today in businesses in you local look around you. But that is my belief you decide it is your choice!
No inventory/Stock model
If you have chosen a no inventory Network Marketing that handles all the products and services, delivery and inventory. You will have more time to spend on getting prequalified clients. You will as a pure network marketer (selling person) have access to products and services to sell and promote, your “Business Opportunity” is one of those products all made available to you by your Network Marketing Corporation (I call it your umbrella corporation) that you have decided to partner and grow you enterprise within.
Your market may be limited to the local that your Network Marketing Corporation services not your personal local
How different is PURE Network Marketing from the stock and inventory model.
What ever you chose the 6 steps of a sale and growth to occur are the same.
